Adult Group Visit

Jewish Museum Milwaukee can provide a customized experience for your participants to explore history and events that reverberate today. Topics like the Holocaust, Immigration, and Community Action come alive with a docent-led tour of the Museum. Each experience can include:

Specialized tours or lectures about the Museum’s current special exhibit with the education director or curator OR
A docent-led tour of the Museum’s permanent and special exhibit  that is tailored to your group’s needs. Exhibit tour themes include:

  • Immigration
  • Milwaukee History
  • Holocaust—we connect with the Nathan & Esther Pelz Holocaust Resource Center to provide workshops (LINK TO THEIR page) that connect with your tour; survivor or survivor family members may be available to speak with your students
  • The Jewish American Experience
  • The Women of JMM: Contributions to Milwaukee and Beyond

Opportunity to explore the original Marc Chagall Tapestry with docent or educator

Workshops (may be necessary for larger groups); here are some options:

  • Jewish Holidays and their Celebrations
  • It’s an….ARTIFACT? Hands-On History through artifacts from the Museum
  • Immigration and the American Experience
  • Jews, Judaism, Jewish? Questions Answered

Group Size: If your group is 40 or smaller, they can tour the Museum at the same time, in smaller groups of 10-20; if your group is larger than 40 people, JMM may include docents at stations rather than having a formal tour OR we can schedule a workshop for your visit.

Tour Timing: Sixty to ninety minutes, depending on group size and workshop rotation
