Jewish Museum Milwaukee is proud to partner with MKE Museum Week to bring you the following programs:

Monday, January 21

Free Community Day, NO ADMISSION FEE. Made possible by the Brewer’s Community Foundation.

Allied in the Fight: Lunch and Learn with Curator Molly Dubin, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 pm.

Join curator Molly Dubin as she presents on this past spring’s exhibit, Allied in the Fight: Jews, Blacks and the Struggle for Civil Rights. The exhibit recounted the efforts made by Jewish and African American leaders, organizations, and community members in fighting for fundamental human rights before and during the Civil Rights era.  They joined together in pursuit of equality and in combatting prejudice and discrimination.  Despite the relationship’s complexities, African American and Jewish communities became allied against injustice. Through national and local lenses the exhibit provided context for the historical and evolutionary relationships of these communities. This program is free and open to the public. Order a special boxed lunch for the program here.
