Date(s) - Thursday, October 18th
10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Jewish Museum Milwaukee
Did you know on the Third Thursday of each month, Jewish Museum Milwaukee is open late? That’s right – we stay open until 7:00 pm so you have extra time to explore our exhibits! We also feature films that tell the story of the Hollywood Blacklist.
In October, we are screening The Front, a 1976 drama film starring Woody Allen and set in the midst of the Hollywood Red Scare.
In the 1950s, restaurant cashier Howard is apathetic toward the politics around him. When a blacklisted screenwriter asks Howard to sell a script under his own name, Howard sees an opportunity to make a profit and becomes a “front” for several blacklisted writers. But after he witnesses the social destruction of a comedian, Howard sees the corruption of McCarthyism and decides to do something to make a difference.
Film screening begins at 5:30 pm
