Presented by the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center’s Tapestry Arts & Ideas in partnership with Jewish Museum Milwaukee.
Why are so many states and school districts banning books? We’ll dive into reading and discussing books that are currently being banned across the country, and explore the history of suppressing ideas. A docent-led tour of Jewish Museum Milwaukee’s special exhibit, The Book Smugglers: Partisans, Poets, and the Race to Save Jewish Treasures from the Nazis – the True Story of the Paper Brigade of Vilna, follows the February session.
