Celebrating Five Years as a Museum Consortium
In May 2016, the Milwaukee Museum Mile will celebrate five years as a consortium of five wonderful arts and cultural organizations located on Milwaukee’s historic East Side along Lake Michigan. In recognition of this milestone, the Milwaukee Museum Mile is sponsoring Plein Air MKE, a painting event located in the heart of Milwaukee’s cultural, architectural and natural landscape.
Artists will explore and paint what they see along the Milwaukee Museum Mile, from Juneau Park on the South to Lake Park on the North. The major streets for painting will be Prospect, Terrace, and Wahl Avenues, with “quick paint” opportunities on Brady Street and/or North Avenue.
The event will culminate with a reception, artwork judging, artist awards and art sale at Saint John’s On The Lake on Thursday, May 12. Proceeds will benefit the Milwaukee Museum Mile member museums.
